Accountant | $77/hr | Remote (US/UK/CA)

Mercor is seeking experienced accounting professionals to join a short-term project with a leading AI research lab. This unique opportunity allows you to leverage your expertise in financial reporting, auditing, and compliance to help advance AI capabilities in accounting workflows. Work remotely with flexible hours and competitive pay.

• Evaluate and refine AI-generated financial statements, audit reports, and compliance documents for accuracy and adherence to GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Provide expert feedback on AI outputs related to tax filings, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Develop and improve evaluation rubrics for financial analysis, audit planning, and compliance reviews.
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams to enhance system reliability and reasoning.
• Audit management reports and technical memos for clarity and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of professional or research experience in accounting, auditing, or financial reporting at top-tier firms or institutions.
• CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Expertise in external/internal audit, tax compliance, or forensic accounting.
• Strong analytical and professional writing skills.
• Must reside in the US, UK, or Canada.

Project Details:

• Immediate start; 6+ month duration.
• Part-time, 20-40 hours/week; fully remote and asynchronous.
• Independent contractor status; weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
