Role Overview:
Mercor seeks an experienced Biology Reasoning Expert to craft and refine high-quality reasoning questions designed to rigorously evaluate AI models. Your expertise in biological theory, reasoning, and critical thinking will be essential to ensuring the accuracy, depth, and educational value of our assessment content.
Key Responsibilities:
Question Development: Create structured, undergraduate-level biology questions emphasizing reasoning, problem-solving, and conceptual understanding.
Solution Validation: Solve and rigorously validate questions for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they require logical reasoning instead of rote memorization.
Difficulty Scaling: Classify questions into Easy, Medium, and Hard categories, maintaining an engaging balance of complexity and accessibility.
Real-World Relevance: Develop questions grounded in real-world biological scenarios, avoiding trivial or overly abstract contexts.
Quality Assurance: Confirm each question’s alignment with established biological principles, preventing ambiguity, factual inaccuracies, or unrealistic scenarios.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline.
At least 2 years of professional experience in teaching, research, or applied biology.
Proficient knowledge of undergraduate-level biology topics, including cell biology, genetics, physiology, ecology, and evolutionary biology.
Strong critical thinking, writing, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
