Turing is seeking an experienced Aerospace / Flight-Dynamics Engineer to support AI research acceleration by authoring high-quality aero and flight simulation tasks. You'll build golden geometries, mission plans, and scored airframe files using industry-standard tools — contributing directly to cutting-edge AI training pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Author and validate aero/flight tasks using tools such as OpenVSP, XFLR5, FlightGear+JSBSim, OpenRocket, and QGroundControl.
  • Develop realistic engineering problem statements, simulation models, calculations, schematics, and supporting technical assets.
  • Build golden geometries and mission plans; score geometry, route, and airframe files.
  • Define inputs, assumptions, constraints, operating conditions, output metrics, and acceptance criteria.
  • Validate results through analytical checks and peer-review other engineers' submissions for technical accuracy.
  • Translate technical requirements into simulation models and workflows.
  • Optimize designs based on simulation outcomes and document methodologies and results.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Aerospace or Flight-Dynamics engineering.
  • Proficiency in at least 2 of the following tools: OpenVSP, XFLR5, FlightGear+JSBSim, OpenRocket, QGroundControl.
  • Experience with scripting for simulation or automation tasks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Skilled in technical documentation, peer review, and clear communication of engineering decisions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MSc in Aerospace Engineering.
  • Prior experience in a Product Owner or technical lead role.

Contract Details:

  • Commitment: 40 hours per week with at least 4 hours PST overlap required.
  • Employment Type: Contractor assignment (no medical or paid leave benefits).
  • Duration: 5-week contract with immediate onboarding.
