AI Analyst & Photographer (Hindi) | Contractor | Remote | Up to 16 Weeks
Turing is seeking Hindi-speaking photographers and AI data annotators to help build evaluation materials for frontier AI systems. You'll source, modify, and document real-world images to challenge multimodal AI agents in multi-step visual research tasks. This is a fully remote contractor role requiring at least 20 hours per week.
About Turing
Based in San Francisco, Turing is a world-leading research accelerator for frontier AI labs and a trusted partner for global enterprises. Turing specializes in high-quality data, advanced training pipelines, and expert AI researchers across coding, reasoning, STEM, multilinguality, and multimodality.
Role Overview
You will create evaluation datasets using cropped, occluded, or degraded images of real-world places, products, and media. Each image should require an AI agent to perform multi-step web research (e.g., Google Search, Google Lens, reverse image search) to identify or restore missing content. You will also prepare complete deliverable packages including prompts, grading rubrics, and solution notes.
Key Responsibilities
- Source authentic, high-quality, verifiably licensed photographs of real-world subjects relevant to Hindi-speaking locales.
- Verify and document image copyright status, license type, and provenance.
- Conduct iterative multi-step research to identify and verify image subjects from partial visual clues.
- Create cropped, masked, or degraded image versions that conceal identifying details while preserving realistic visual clues.
- Write clear, time-bound prompts in English without revealing the target identity.
- Develop concise, objective, one-sentence grading rubrics for each evaluation instance.
- Prepare solution notes documenting ground-truth identity, research process, supporting evidence, and expected outcomes.
Key Qualifications
- Language: Native or highly fluent Hindi speaker with strong English proficiency. All prompts, rubrics, and notes must be written in English.
- Cultural Knowledge: Deep familiarity with regionally significant, non-touristy landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, and domestic film/media in Hindi-speaking regions.
- Research Skills: Proficient in iterative investigative research using Google Search, Google Lens, and reverse image search.
- Copyright Literacy: Able to source and verify imagery from Wikimedia Commons, Creative Commons, Smithsonian Open Access, or original photography, with proper documentation.
- Image Editing: Able to crop, mask, or annotate images while preserving realistic secondary visual clues.
- Attention to Detail: Skilled at writing precise, objective rubric criteria and appropriately scoped prompts.
- Tool Proficiency: Comfortable with Google Drive, structured file naming, and organized deliverable submissions.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field.
- Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, or quality assurance is preferred but not required.
