AI Analyst & Photographer (Spanish) | Contractor | Remote | Up to 16 Weeks
Turing is looking for Spanish-speaking photographers and data annotators to help build evaluation materials for frontier AI systems. You'll source, modify, and document real-world images to challenge multimodal AI agents in multi-step visual research tasks. Role Overview
You will create image-based evaluation instances using cropped, occluded, or degraded photographs of real-world places, products, and media. Each instance must require an AI agent to perform multi-step web research (e.g., Google Search, Google Lens, reverse image search) to identify or restore missing content. You'll deliver a complete package per instance: the modified image, a prompt, a grading rubric, and solution notes.
Key Responsibilities
- Source authentic, high-quality, verifiably licensed photographs relevant to your assigned Spanish-speaking locale.
- Document each image's license type and provenance (e.g., Wikimedia Commons, Creative Commons, public domain, or original photography).
- Conduct iterative, multi-step research to verify image subjects using Google Search, Google Lens, and reverse image search.
- Create cropped, masked, or degraded image versions that conceal key identifiers while preserving realistic visual clues.
- Write clear, time-bound prompts in English that do not reveal the target identity.
- Develop concise, objective, one-sentence grading rubrics for each evaluation instance.
- Prepare solution notes documenting the ground-truth identity, research process, supporting evidence, and expected outcome.
Key Qualifications
- Language: Native or highly fluent Spanish speaker with strong English proficiency. All deliverables must be written in English.
- Local cultural knowledge: Deep familiarity with regionally significant (non-touristy) landmarks, universities, municipal buildings, and domestic film/media in your assigned locale. This is a critical requirement.
- Research skills: Comfortable with iterative, investigative research using Google Search, Google Lens, and reverse image search.
- Copyright literacy: Able to source, verify, and document licensed or public-domain imagery from platforms such as Wikimedia Commons, Smithsonian Open Access, and Creative Commons.
- Image editing: Able to crop, mask, or annotate images while preserving realistic secondary visual clues.
- Attention to detail: Skilled at writing precise, objective rubric criteria and carefully scoped prompts.
- Tool proficiency: Comfortable with Google Drive, structured file naming, and organized deliverable submissions.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in any field.
- Experience in AI evaluation, data annotation, content review, or quality assurance is preferred but not required.
Engagement Details
- Type: Contractor
- Duration: Up to 16 weeks
- Commitment: Minimum 20 hours/week (at least 4 hrs/day), with 4 hours of overlap with Pacific Time
Evaluation Process
