Anthropology Expert | $40–80/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced Anthropology professionals to collaborate with a leading AI research lab. In this role, you will leverage your expertise to help design, review, and evaluate complex problems and data for the advancement of large language models in the social sciences.

• Responsibilities:
  • Create and assess challenging anthropology and social science tasks, including cultural analysis, ethnography, and applied research.
  • Evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy, logical consistency, and real-world relevance.
  • Provide clear, constructive written feedback on anthropology-related materials.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and engineers to improve model performance.
  • Maintain academic rigor and ensure alignment with social science standards.
• Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in Anthropology or related social science, or significant professional experience in applied social science.
  • Deep subject-matter expertise in anthropology, including ethnography and cultural studies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Teaching, research, or publication experience is a plus.
• Project Details:
  • Start immediately with a minimum 1–2 month duration.
  • Part-time, approximately 20 hours/week, with potential to extend to 40 hours/week.
  • Fully remote and flexible schedule.
  • Competitive hourly compensation ($40–$80/hr) with potential weekly bonuses.
  • Independent contractor position with weekly payments via Stripe Connect.
