Audio Annotation Trainer (Korean) | Freelance Contract | Worldwide Remote
Turing is seeking a fluent or native Korean speaker to join a specialized AI data project focused on building evaluation-grade, transcribed audio datasets. This role involves reviewing and validating AI-generated transcriptions and speaker diarization outputs to support the development of cutting-edge multilingual AI systems.
About Turing
Turing is one of the world's fastest-growing AI companies, partnering with leading AI labs to advance frontier model capabilities in reasoning, coding, multilinguality, and more. We build real-world AI systems that solve mission-critical challenges for global organizations.
Role Overview
You will work on a high-accuracy, evaluation-grade dataset of multi-channel audio recordings designed to assess multilingual, multi-speaker AI systems. The project involves evaluating realistic conversations that reflect diverse dynamics, contexts, and demographics.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate AI-generated transcriptions and diarization outputs against strict low word error rate (WER) targets.
- Validate that transcripts accurately capture spontaneous, unnormalized speech — including overlaps, interruptions, false starts, and disfluencies.
- Assess the precision of turn-level and word-level timestamps and speaker identification in complex, overlapping dialogue.
- Read and validate JSON-formatted outputs to verify metadata tagging, diarization alignment, and timestamp logic.
- Identify transcription, diarization, segmentation, and alignment errors and determine whether AI output meets acceptance thresholds.
Requirements
- Fluent or native proficiency in Korean.
- Exceptional ear for audio fidelity — able to detect subtle background noise, channel bleed, or clipping.
- Meticulous attention to detail for word-level timestamp verification and strict verbatim transcription rules.
- Ability to evaluate AI-generated transcription quality and identify recognition, segmentation, and speaker attribution errors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Linguists / Phonetics Experts: Deep understanding of natural, unnormalized speech patterns and conversational dynamics.
- Language Teachers: Native-level mastery of Korean with the ability to evaluate transcript fidelity without normalization or grammar correction.
- Professional Transcriptionists / Speech Data QA Specialists: Experience reviewing ASR outputs, validating timestamps, and assessing transcription quality against strict accuracy targets.
Why Work With Turing?
- Fully remote, flexible work arrangement.
- Opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI projects with leading LLM companies.
- Potential for contract extension based on performance and project needs.
This is a flexible freelance agreement and is not a full-time or part-time employment position. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a delivery review before onboarding.
