Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist | $40–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

MICRO1 is seeking a skilled Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist to support advanced CAD modeling, design automation, and manufacturing-ready documentation for a variety of engineering projects. This is a fully remote contractor role ideal for a detail-oriented mechanical design professional with deep expertise in parametric modeling and design for manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex parametric CAD models using Autodesk Fusion 360 and related tools
• Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards to technical drawings and design documentation
• Conduct DFM (Design for Manufacturability) reviews across processes including injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and casting/forging
• Perform CAD model auditing and reverse engineering tasks including scan-to-CAD and point cloud conversion
• Develop CAD automation scripts using Python, iLogic, NX Open, or VBA to streamline design workflows
• Create clear, professional technical documentation and communicate design rationale effectively to stakeholders
• Collaborate on mechanical assembly modeling and support cross-functional engineering teams

Required Skills

• Primary CAD Tools: Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, FreeCAD
• Standards & Methodologies: GD&T (ASME Y14.5), DFM principles
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, casting, and forging
• Automation & Scripting: Python, iLogic, NX Open, VBA
• Additional Skills: Reverse engineering, point cloud conversion, mechanical assembly modeling
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and clear written and verbal communication
