Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist | $40–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

MICRO1 is seeking a skilled Autodesk Fusion 360 Specialist to support advanced CAD modeling, design validation, and manufacturing-ready documentation for a variety of engineering projects. This is a fully remote contractor role ideal for a detail-oriented mechanical design professional with deep expertise in parametric modeling and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain complex parametric CAD models and mechanical assemblies using Autodesk Fusion 360
• Apply GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability
• Conduct CAD model audits and perform reverse engineering tasks including scan-to-CAD and point cloud conversion
• Collaborate with engineering teams to communicate design rationale through clear technical documentation
• Implement CAD automation using Python, iLogic, NX Open, or VBA to streamline workflows
• Apply DFM (Design for Manufacturability) principles across injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and casting/forging processes

Required Skills

• Primary CAD Tools: Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, FreeCAD
• Standards & Methodologies: GD&T (ASME Y14.5), DFM, mechanical assembly modeling
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining, casting, and forging
• Automation & Scripting: Python, iLogic, NX Open, VBA
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and clear written and verbal communication
