Autodesk Inventor Specialist | $30–100/hr | Worldwide Remote

We are seeking a highly skilled Autodesk Inventor Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for an experienced CAD professional with deep expertise in parametric 3D modeling, design for manufacturability, and CAD automation. You will work on complex engineering design challenges across a variety of manufacturing domains.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage detailed parametric 3D CAD models and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
• Create and interpret technical drawings in compliance with GD&T (ASME Y14.5) standards
• Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles across injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and casting processes
• Perform reverse engineering tasks including scan-to-CAD and point cloud-to-model conversions
• Conduct thorough CAD model audits to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency
• Develop and maintain CAD automation scripts using Python, iLogic, VBA, or NX Open
• Produce clear, accurate engineering documentation to support design and manufacturing teams

Required Skills

• Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and parametric 3D CAD modeling
• Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and technical drawing interpretation
• Experience with assembly-level design and manufacturing process knowledge
• Hands-on experience with reverse engineering methodologies
• CAD automation and scripting capabilities (Python, iLogic, VBA, NX Open)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving ability and keen attention to detail
