Bilingual German STEM Expert (PhD) — AI Safety | $58–62/hr | Remote (Western Europe Preferred)

Join a cutting-edge AI safety initiative where your scientific expertise directly shapes the reliability and safety of advanced AI models. We're seeking PhD-level scientists who are fluent in both English and German to evaluate and improve how AI systems handle complex, specialized scientific content. No prior AI or machine learning experience is needed — full training is provided.

What You'll Do

• Compose expert-level scientific prompts in German across specialized technical domains.
• Evaluate and annotate AI model responses for scientific accuracy, helpfulness, and responsible handling of sensitive material.
• Apply structured guidelines to classify prompts and multi-turn conversations.

What We're Looking For

• A PhD (completed or in progress) in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, with the depth to cover chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear subject areas.
• Native or near-native fluency in German, along with strong written English at a business level.
• Deep familiarity with modern laboratory and/or computational techniques in your subfield.
• Sound judgment regarding scientific safety and the responsible handling of dual-use information.

Nice to Have

• Based in Germany or the broader Western Europe region (preferred, not required).
• Background in radiochemistry, nuclear chemistry, energetic materials, or radiation physics.
• Demonstrated depth in a specific subfield such as organic/inorganic synthesis, molecular biology, microbiology, virology, or genetics.
• Research or coursework in chemical safety, biosafety, biosecurity, or hazardous materials handling.
• Experience reviewing, grading, or red-teaming technical content.
