Bilingual Japanese Legal Expert | $90–110/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking a native Japanese-speaking legal professional to contribute expertise in both law and language for AI model training. This is a remote, contract-based opportunity for experienced legal practitioners in Japan who are fluent in both Japanese and English.

• Legal Content Development: Translate and adapt complex Japanese legal concepts, ensuring accuracy and cultural nuance in all content.
• Bilingual Communication: Write fluently in Japanese and English, maintaining precise legal terminology and nuanced expression.
• Domain Expertise: Provide insights into Japanese legal systems, laws, and practices.
• Collaboration: Work with peers and reviewers to refine and validate legal content.

Requirements:

• Native-level Japanese fluency and strong English skills.
• Advanced degree in Law.
• 2–6+ years of legal practice in Japan.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication abilities.

Bonus: Experience with assessment, rubric development, or familiarity with AI/ML concepts is a plus.

This role is fully remote and asynchronous, requiring at least 20 hours per week for approximately 2 months. You will work within a structured project environment and undergo a streamlined application process, including an AI-led interview and paid work trial.
