Join Mercor as a Bilingual Japanese Government/Public Policy Expert and help shape the future of AI in the public policy domain. This contract role is ideal for native Japanese speakers with a background in government or public policy, offering flexible, remote work and competitive hourly rates.

• Content Development: Translate, adapt, and synthesize complex policy frameworks into clear, structured rubrics for AI training.
• Bilingual Communication: Write fluently in both Japanese and English, ensuring accuracy and cultural nuance.
• Domain Expertise: Provide insights unique to Japanese public policy and culture.
• Collaboration: Work with peers and reviewers to refine and improve content.

Ideal candidates will have:

• Native-level Japanese and strong English skills
• Degree in policy, political science, sociology, or related field
• 2–6+ years’ experience in politics, public policy, or think tanks
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience in policy writing, instructional design, or academic publishing

Bonus skills: Experience with grading, rubric development, or familiarity with AI/machine learning concepts.

This is a remote, asynchronous contract requiring at least 20 hours per week for approximately 2 months. You’ll work in a structured project environment with clear goals and tools. The application process includes an AI-led interview and a paid work trial.
