About the Opportunity: Mercor is partnering with a premier AI research lab to recruit Biology PhDs for an exciting research study. We are exploring how advanced AI tools can assist subject matter experts in solving complex biological problems. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise to cutting-edge research while collaborating closely with innovative AI technologies.
Role Description: In this study, participants will use their biology expertise to develop detailed, methodical protocols addressing complex biological challenges. Half of the participants will utilize an advanced AI assistant, while the other half will employ standard research methods. Your documented approach and resulting protocols will be integral to our research outcomes.
Study Commitment:
Remote participation
6-8 hours/day over 2 consecutive days
Study window: April 19–April 27
Required: Video recording of work sessions (for research purposes only)
Who We're Looking For:
PhD in a Biology-related field (e.g., Bioengineering, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Plant Biology, Synthetic Biology)
5+ years experience working in wet lab environments
Strong attention to detail and exceptional written communication skills
Note: Applicants must have NO significant prior experience in virology
Eligibility:
Must be a citizen and physically located in the US, Canada, UK, New Zealand, Australia, or any European country
Ability to participate fully within the designated study period
Compensation & Benefits:
$100/hour contractor rate
