Building Code Plans Examiner | $80–120/hr | Worldwide Remote

We are seeking an experienced Building Code Plans Examiner to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will review construction documents and permit applications to ensure full compliance with applicable building codes and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional in the skilled trades and construction domain to contribute meaningful expertise in a fully remote capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough review of building permit applications and construction documents for code compliance
• Evaluate architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans against applicable building codes
• Identify deficiencies and provide clear, actionable correction notices to applicants
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and national building codes and standards
• Collaborate with project teams, architects, and engineers to resolve plan review issues efficiently
• Maintain accurate records of plan review activities and decisions

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven expertise in Building Code Plan Review and Building Code Compliance
• Strong background in Permit Plan Review and Construction Document Review
• In-depth knowledge of IBC, IRC, and other relevant building codes
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities

This is a remote contractor position offering a competitive rate of $80–$120/hr based on experience and qualifications.
