Business Report & Strategic Insights Consultant | $175/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research company to improve how AI systems generate executive-level business reports and strategic recommendations. We're seeking experienced management consultants to help define excellence in business reporting, produce high-quality strategic deliverables, and evaluate AI-generated reasoning and outputs. This is a unique opportunity to apply consulting rigor to the development of next-generation AI systems that support real-world business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Report Framework Development

• Define standards for high-quality business reports and executive communications
• Establish best practices for argument structure, evidence hierarchy, storytelling, and recommendation development
• Create evaluation rubrics that distinguish exceptional, average, and poor-quality outputs

Report Writing

• Analyze complex business questions generated by AI systems
• Synthesize multiple sources of information into clear, actionable recommendations
• Produce decision-ready reports comparable to strategy consulting deliverables presented to executive leadership

Session Scoring & Evaluation

• Review AI-generated research and reporting workflows for consistency of reasoning, accuracy of analyses, appropriateness of confidence assessments, quality of logical reasoning, and executive readiness of final outputs
• Provide detailed feedback and scoring rationale

Requirements

Must Have

• 3+ years at McKinsey, Bain, BCG, LEK, Oliver Wyman, Strategy&, Kearney, EY-Parthenon, Roland Berger, or a comparable top-tier strategy consulting firm
• Proven experience producing executive-facing presentations and reports
• Strong analytical problem-solving and structured thinking skills
• Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative research into actionable recommendations
• Excellent written communication skills
• Availability for 40 hours in the first week, then ~15 hours/week thereafter

Preferred

• Sector experience in CPG, healthcare/pharma, financial services, retail, or consumer industries
• Experience presenting recommendations directly to senior executives
• Background in evaluating analytical work products or mentoring junior consultants

Engagement Details

• Duration: 1 month initially, with potential extension
• Commitment: 40 hours in week one (training, calibration, framework development), followed by ~15 hours/week for the remainder of the engagement
