Business & Sales Operations Domain Expert | $60–100/hr | Bay Area, CA (Hybrid)
Join a leading AI lab's GenAI team and play a pivotal role in shaping how frontier AI models understand and reason about real-world business operations. This is a senior, hands-on role for a seasoned operations professional who wants to be at the forefront of AI development.
About the Role
Employed by Cincinnatus LLC on a W-2 basis, you will be embedded within a top AI lab's research and program management teams. Your deep domain expertise will directly influence the quality, accuracy, and depth of AI model training in business and sales operations. This is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence in the Bay Area multiple days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Data QA & Review: Evaluate the quality of business and sales operations tasks and model outputs, identifying flawed reasoning, missing behaviors, and answers that would not hold up under real operational scrutiny.
- Instruction Specs & Golden Datasets: Author high-quality instruction specifications, produce authoritative golden solutions to operations problems, and define new tasks grounded in real-world practice.
- Benchmarks & Domain Tools: Design rigorous evaluation sets and challenging operations tasks; collaborate with research teams to build domain-specific skills and tooling.
- Calibration & Standards: Partner with researchers and adjacent specialists to maintain consistent quality standards, translating tacit operational judgment into clear, teachable criteria.
Core Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of substantive ownership of a business, revenue, or sales operations function at a recognized organization (individual quota-carrying roles without operations ownership do not qualify).
- Seniority: Demonstrated progression to a senior level — Manager, Director, VP, COO, or equivalent — with real ownership of a function, budget, or team.
- Domain Depth: Genuine specialization in at least one area such as sales operations, territory/quota design, revenue operations, CRM/GTM systems, pricing/deal desk, supply chain, business analytics, or process improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
- AI Fluency: Hands-on professional use of large language models, with the judgment to distinguish well-reasoned outputs from plausible-sounding errors.
- Availability: Reliable commitment of 40 hours per week for an initial 6-month engagement.
- Location: Must reside in the Bay Area, CA, or be willing to relocate at your own expense prior to the engagement start. Relocation assistance is not provided.
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to deliver precise, well-structured feedback.
