Catalan Audio Generalist Evaluator | $50/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking a skilled Catalan Audio Generalist Evaluator to contribute to a high-impact audio AI research project with a leading research lab. In this role, you will perform transcription, annotation, and evaluation tasks that help train and benchmark advanced language models. This is a short-term, structured engagement ideal for candidates with strong academic or analytical backgrounds who are fluent in Catalan and English.

Key Responsibilities

• Listen to, analyze, and transcribe audio and video content in Catalan, following detailed formatting and stylistic guidelines.
• Capture nuances such as tone, intent, formal vs. informal register, and regional variations where relevant.
• Establish clear evaluation standards and develop detailed rubrics and grading guidelines in both Catalan and English.
• Identify linguistic nuances, grammatical complexities, and edge cases specific to Catalan.
• Run prompts through language models and assess generated outputs for accuracy, completeness, fluency, and instructional clarity.
• Participate in QA and review cycles to ensure tasks, rubrics, and outputs meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with project leads to resolve ambiguities and improve task design.

Minimum Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in Catalan (spoken and written) and professional fluency in English.
• Strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to accurately transcribe and analyze Catalan audio content across general consumer contexts.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Available to commit 10–20 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• College students or recent graduates welcome to apply.
• Background in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, or technical disciplines.
• Prior experience with transcription, annotation, localization, or research workflows in Catalan.
• Familiarity with dialectal variations and contemporary Catalan usage.
