Role Overview

As an AI Tutor specializing in Chemical Engineering, you'll provide expert-level input, high-quality annotations, and curated data using proprietary software. You'll collaborate with technical teams to develop new AI tasks, refine annotation workflows, and identify complex chemical engineering problems where your knowledge can meaningfully improve model reasoning and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide precise annotations and labeled data for chemical engineering projects using proprietary software
• Deliver high-quality, curated datasets that drive model development and accuracy
• Collaborate with technical teams to design and train new AI tasks
• Contribute to developing efficient annotation tools and processes
• Identify and analyze complex engineering problems to enhance AI model understanding
• Interpret and execute evolving task instructions with precision and adaptability

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline
• Strong command of professional English with excellent communication and analytical skills
• Proven ability to conduct research using scientific databases and technical sources
• Exceptional attention to detail, reading comprehension, and independent judgment
• Demonstrated passion for technological innovation in engineering or AI

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering

Work Environment

• Full-time remote position (or in-person in Palo Alto, CA)
• Initial training: 9:00am–5:30pm PST for two weeks; afterward work in your local timezone
• Personal computer: Chromebook, Mac (macOS 11+), or Windows 10+ required
• Reliable smartphone access required
• U.S. applicants: must reside outside Wyoming and Illinois
• Visa sponsorship not available

Compensation

$45–100/hour for U.S.-based professionals, depending on experience, education, skills, geographic location, and qualifications. International applicants will receive location-specific pay ranges. Benefits vary by country and may include medical or other employment-related coverage.
