Chemistry Researcher | $70–$80/hr | Remote (US/UK/CA)

Mercor is seeking experienced chemistry professionals to join a leading AI research initiative. As a Chemistry Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in advancing AI capabilities in chemical analysis, synthesis planning, and laboratory simulation. This is a fully remote, part-time contract position with flexible hours and competitive pay.

• Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and refine AI-generated chemical analyses, reaction pathways, and experimental designs for scientific accuracy.
  • Provide expert feedback on AI outputs related to synthesis, materials characterization, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and improve evaluation rubrics for chemical modeling and predictive simulations.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI research teams to enhance system reasoning and reliability.
  • Audit technical reports and research summaries for clarity and precision.
• Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of professional or research experience in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related fields at top-tier institutions or industry leaders.
  • PhD or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline.
  • Expertise in organic synthesis, analytical chemistry, computational chemistry, catalysis, polymer science, or pharmaceutical R&D.
  • Strong proficiency with laboratory workflows and scientific documentation.
  • Exceptional analytical and scientific writing skills.
  • Must reside in the US, UK, or Canada.
• Project Details:
  • Immediate start, 6+ month duration.
  • Part-time (20–40 hours/week), fully remote and asynchronous.
  • Independent contractor status, weekly payment via Stripe Connect.
