Climate Modeling ML Expert | $150–200/hr | Worldwide Remote

Join a cutting-edge research initiative at the intersection of machine learning and climate science. This is a short-term, project-based remote role for experienced ML researchers and engineers with deep expertise in climate modeling and earth system science. Work is asynchronous, spanning 2–3 weeks, with an expected commitment of 10–20 hours per week per accepted project.

What You'll Do

• Develop and refine machine learning models applied to climate systems
• Contribute to climate projection and long-term climate dynamics research
• Design and improve parameterization schemes for earth system models
• Support carbon cycle modeling and climate impact assessment tasks
• Work independently on assigned research and technical projects

Required Qualifications

• At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed venue (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, Nature Climate Change, Journal of Climate, Geophysical Research Letters, or equivalent)
• Master's or PhD in Climate Science, Earth System Science, Atmospheric Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
• Demonstrated expertise in both machine learning and climate modeling or earth system science
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on complex technical tasks
