Clinical & Health Care Operations Reviewer | $75–$90/hr | Remote (US)

Mercor is seeking experienced, actively practicing US health care professionals to audit AI-generated work product in their own specialty — not to produce it. This is a flexible, hourly contractor role ideal for practitioners who know their field inside and out and can critically evaluate work the way a seasoned colleague or auditor would.

What You'll Do

Each task presents a complete AI agent attempt at a realistic health care scenario — including the original task, the agent's actions, files produced, and an AI-generated scoresheet. You'll evaluate each item by answering four structured questions:

  • Task Realism: Is this a genuine, plausible task from the field — or contrived?
  • Domain Accuracy: Are the standards, regulations, figures, and clinical details correct? Would a practitioner catch something off?
  • Grading Review: Does the AI grader's eleven yes/no checklist hold up when you review the actual files?
  • Score Defensibility: Is the reported score consistent with how a real practitioner would rate the work's usability?

Expect approximately one hour per item. You will never redo or perform the task yourself — your role is purely evaluative.

Who We're Looking For

We are hiring across five specific roles. Please apply only to the one that reflects your actual background:

  • Registered Nurses — 5+ years post-licensure bedside care, active US license; charge nurse or preceptor experience a plus
  • Nurse Practitioners — Board-certified, 3+ years managing your own patient panel
  • Medical & Health Services Managers — Practice managers, clinic administrators, or department directors with 5+ years owning a clinical budget
  • First-Line Supervisors (Office & Administrative Support) — Patient access, HIM, scheduling, or billing leads with 4+ years supervising in a clinical setting
  • Medical Secretaries & Administrative Assistants — 4+ years of scheduling, clinical correspondence, and records management in a practice or hospital

Requirements

  • Deep, hands-on expertise in US health care — including familiarity with HIPAA, CMS regulations, and US payer specifics
  • Near-native business English proficiency — you'll write a concise rationale for every judgment
  • Comfort reviewing spreadsheets and PDFs to verify whether numbers reconcile
  • Experience as a chart auditor, preceptor, or survey participant is a strong advantage

This role is a strong fit for practitioners who have had to explain to a colleague exactly why their work was wrong. It is less suited to consultants without direct ownership of clinical work, or professionals whose experience is outside the US health care system.

Getting Started

Your first step is a short (~15 minute) recorded interview about your area of expertise. Once onboarded, you'll complete a brief intake profile independently before beginning paid review tasks.

How to apply for this role
  • Upload your resume — keep it up-to-date and in English. Mercor will auto-fill your profile from it.
  • Complete the AI interview — a 15-minute conversation about your experience. Be ready to discuss specific projects and challenges you've solved.
  • Submit your application — only about 20% of applicants finish all the steps, so completing yours puts you well ahead.
