Clinical Law Professor / Clinic Director | $180/hr | Remote (US)

Mercor is seeking experienced Clinical Law Professors and Clinic Directors to evaluate AI-generated legal reasoning in the context of civil legal services. This is a short-term, intellectually engaging project where your expertise in legal pedagogy and live-client supervision will directly shape the accuracy and quality of emerging AI legal tools.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated legal responses for accuracy and soundness of reasoning
• Review issue spotting, legal reasoning, and procedural analysis
• Assess scenarios involving housing, family, consumer, and debt law
• Provide structured, actionable feedback to improve AI systems
• Apply your experience supervising law students and managing live-client clinics

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree
• Current or previous U.S. bar admission
• Experience directing or supervising a law school clinic
• Expertise in one or more civil legal practice areas
• Strong legal writing and evaluation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Title of Clinical Professor of Law or Clinic Director
• Experience with housing, family, consumer, elder, or disability law clinics
• Background in developing legal curriculum or assessment rubrics
• Published scholarship or educational materials

Engagement Details

• Location: Fully Remote (US)
• Commitment: Approximately 15 hours per week
• Duration: Estimated 2–3 weeks
• Rate: $180/hr
