AFTERQUERY is seeking experienced Cloud Engineers to design and build the infrastructure and automation environments used by frontier AI labs to evaluate model judgment. This is a fully remote, async-friendly contract role with weekly pay.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure supporting AI model testing and evaluation scenarios
- Develop automation pipelines and infrastructure-as-code solutions for complex, high-stakes environments
- Document architecture decisions and operational reasoning clearly for distributed teams
- Collaborate asynchronously with engineers and researchers across the AI safety space
Requirements
- 2+ years of professional cloud engineering experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
- Deep expertise in at least one area: networking, containers, serverless, or cost optimization
- Strong written English skills for documenting architecture and operational decisions
- Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week
Compensation & Details
- Rate: $85–$165/hr depending on experience
