Cloud Engineer Expert | $85–$165/hr | Worldwide Remote | Paid Weekly

AFTERQUERY is seeking experienced Cloud Engineers to design and build the infrastructure and automation environments used by frontier AI labs to evaluate model judgment. This is a fully remote, async-friendly contract role with weekly pay.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure supporting AI model testing and evaluation scenarios
• Develop automation pipelines and infrastructure-as-code solutions for complex, high-stakes environments
• Document architecture decisions and operational reasoning clearly for distributed teams
• Collaborate asynchronously with engineers and researchers across the AI safety space

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional cloud engineering experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
• Deep expertise in at least one area: networking, containers, serverless, or cost optimization
• Strong written English skills for documenting architecture and operational decisions
• Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week

• Rate: $85–$165/hr depending on experience
