About the Role
micro1 is looking for a specialist in applied engineering with deep expertise in computational chemistry and bioinformatics. This is a remote contract role.
What the Work Involves
- Running molecular simulations and molecular dynamics using tools such as GROMACS, LAMMPS and AMBER.
- Applying electronic structure methods with software including Gaussian, ORCA, Psi4 and NWChem.
- Working with cheminformatics libraries such as RDKit and Open Babel.
- Supporting drug discovery efforts and AI/ML-assisted chemistry workflows.
- Scientific software configuration, quantitative analysis and scientific programming in Python.
- Documenting work clearly in both written and verbal communication.
Who It's For
- PhD-level background in computational biology, bioinformatics, computational chemistry or a related field.
- Hands-on experience with the simulation and electronic structure tools listed above.
- Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working as a specialist contractor on applied engineering projects.
Pay and Schedule
$45-90/hr, as a contractor. The exact rate within this range depends on your experience and the specifics of the work.
