Join a cutting-edge, project-based engagement at the intersection of machine learning and computational materials science. This remote contractor role is ideal for published researchers who thrive on independent, high-impact technical work applied to real-world materials datasets.

Work is asynchronous and spans 2–3 weeks, with an expected commitment of 10–20 hours per week for accepted projects. Tasks are assigned on a project-by-project basis, offering flexibility alongside exceptional compensation.

What You'll Do

• Develop and refine machine learning models applied to materials science problems
• Analyze simulation data from atomistic, electronic, or structural materials datasets
• Contribute to research tasks involving DFT, force field development, or materials informatics
• Work independently on well-defined technical deliverables with minimal oversight

Required Qualifications

• At least one first-author publication in a peer-reviewed journal
• Demonstrated expertise in both machine learning and computational materials science (e.g., DFT, atomistic simulation, force field development, or materials informatics)
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously
• Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Computational Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field
