About the Role:
Mercor is seeking experienced Computer and Information Research Scientists to develop, review, and validate prompt-based questions used to train advanced AI systems. Your deep knowledge in areas such as algorithm design, computational theory, systems research, machine learning, and distributed computing will ensure that AI-generated content is technically robust, research-driven, and relevant to current advances in the field.
Researchers and technologists from academia, industry labs, and applied research groups are encouraged to apply. In this role, you’ll have a direct impact on how next-generation AI systems approach and solve complex computing challenges.
What We’re Looking For:
3+ years of research or applied R&D experience in computer science or computational systems
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or a related field
Located in the US, UK, or Canada
Expertise in areas such as algorithm and data structure design, machine learning, operating systems, networking, distributed or scientific computing
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with programming languages (Python, C++) and research tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Experience with open-source contributions, simulation platforms, or experimental frameworks

Interview Process:
Participate in an AI-assisted interview to discuss your computer science background and problem-solving approach
Write and present a technical prompt for an AI model (e.g., on designing a search algorithm)

Candidates are selected based on interview performance and the quality of their technical evaluations.
