Role Overview

You will apply your expertise in contract drafting, UCC transactions, breach analysis, and commercial dispute resolution to evaluate how AI reasons about contractual obligations. If you enjoy parsing force majeure clauses, analyzing conditions precedent, and assessing remedies for breach, this role is a strong fit.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to U.S. contract law hypotheticals, including formation issues, breach analysis, UCC Article 2 disputes, and damages calculations.
  • Apply a structured legal rubric to assess issue spotting, accuracy of common law and UCC principles, and contract interpretation doctrines.
  • Identify gaps in AI reasoning around consideration, conditions, anticipatory repudiation, liquidated damages, and third-party beneficiary rights.
  • Provide detailed annotations and written feedback to improve AI model performance.
  • Collaborate with researchers and project managers to align on evaluation standards and project goals.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school; Bar admission (active or inactive).
  • 3+ years of U.S. legal practice in contract law, commercial transactions, or commercial litigation.
  • Strong reasoning skills across common law contracts, UCC, and commercial agreements.
  • Excellent written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
  • High ethical standards; interest in AI is a plus.
