Corporate & M&A Attorney Expert | $100–200/hr | Remote (US) | Weekly Pay

AFTERQUERY is seeking experienced Corporate and M&A attorneys to help build the legal scenarios that frontier AI labs use to evaluate and test model judgment. This is a flexible, fully remote, asynchronous contract role — ideal for practicing attorneys looking to contribute to cutting-edge AI development on their own schedule.

In this role, you will design realistic deal, diligence, and board governance scenarios that challenge AI models to reason through complex legal situations with accuracy and nuance. Your expertise directly shapes how AI systems understand corporate law.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop realistic M&A and corporate governance scenarios for AI model evaluation
• Draft and document legal reasoning clearly for use in AI training and testing pipelines
• Create scenarios involving purchase agreements, due diligence processes, and board matters
• Collaborate asynchronously with the AFTERQUERY team to refine scenario quality

Required Qualifications:

• JD with active bar admission in a US jurisdiction
• 2+ years of corporate or M&A practice at a law firm or in-house legal department
• Hands-on experience with purchase agreements, due diligence, or board governance matters
• Strong written English skills for documenting legal reasoning clearly and precisely
• Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week

Compensation & Logistics:

• Rate: $100–$200/hr based on experience
• Schedule: Fully async, remote — work on your own time
• Payment: Paid weekly
