Cybersecurity Professional at Mercor

Cybersecurity Professional | $48–$104/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced cybersecurity professionals to evaluate AI-generated outputs as part of a quality assurance initiative. This is an asynchronous, project-based role where you will apply your domain expertise to assess the accuracy, reasoning, and evidence interpretation of an AI system focused on threat hunting and security investigations.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated threat hunt results for correctness and overall quality
• Research hunt hypotheses using MITRE ATT&CK and Google Threat Intelligence
• Assess investigation steps and verify AI interpretation of log evidence
• Score AI outputs across five dimensions using a structured rubric
• Provide detailed written feedback identifying errors or gaps in AI reasoning

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of professional cybersecurity experience with relevant college-level or post-graduate education
• Hands-on experience in threat hunting, DFIR, detection engineering, SOC analysis, or red teaming
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK and the ability to independently research threat actor TTPs
• Experience reading structured log data from SIEM, EDR, or endpoint telemetry platforms
• Strong analytical reasoning skills — able to determine when evidence supports or contradicts a conclusion

Nice to Have

• Chronicle / Google SecOps platform experience
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, GIAC, CISSP, or equivalent

This is a flexible, remote contractor role. Work is asynchronous and project-based, making it ideal for experienced professionals seeking meaningful supplemental engagements.
