Data Analyst & Spreadsheet Specialist | $50-60/hr | Remote

About the role

Mercor is hiring data analysts and spreadsheet specialists to support a research project with a leading AI lab. You will complete and narrate real data analysis and spreadsheet tasks on your own Mac, creating high-quality training data that helps benchmark and improve cutting-edge AI models. Responsibilities are clearly structured, without the high pressure typically found in internships or full-time consulting roles.

Requirements

• You must own a MacBook or Mac with an Apple M-series chip or Intel processor, running macOS 15 or higher. Applicants without a Mac cannot be considered.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Numbers and/or Google Sheets, including pivot tables, lookups, charts, data cleaning, and financial or operational models.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed Masters studies, or 2-3 years of relevant experience plus a Bachelors from a prestigious institution.
• Ability to clearly explain your reasoning while you work, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with SQL, Python/R, or BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus.

Pay and schedule

• $50-60/hr, part-time, approximately 10-20 hours per week.
• Immediate start preferred.
