Data Analyst (SQL Proficient) | $75/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs to bring on experienced Data Analysts and Data Scientists with strong SQL skills. In this flexible, project-based role, you'll help shape agentic tool use workflows that power cutting-edge AI applications — all from a fully remote environment. Engagements may be short-term or ongoing based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Design realistic, day-to-day SQL workflows involving dataset manipulation and analysis
• Validate and reason through optimal solutions for complex data tasks
• Review and assess AI model tool use capabilities as they relate to your workflows (no prior tool use experience required)
• Evaluate data quality and implement robust validation checks

Ideal Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or a related quantitative field
• Advanced SQL proficiency — including window functions, CTEs, query optimization, and complex joins across large datasets
• Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar platforms
• Strong analytical thinking and meticulous attention to detail
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field is a plus
