Data Engineering Expert | $140–200/hr | Remote (UK-Based)

Mercor is recruiting experienced Data Engineering professionals for a short, intensive project with a globally leading AI lab. Your professional expertise will directly shape the tasks and evaluation rubrics used to train and assess frontier AI models — making your real-world judgement the core of what drives value in this engagement.

What You'll Do

You will produce professional documents and deliverables representative of your day-to-day work, collaborating alongside experts from complementary domains. These outputs are logged and used to build training and evaluation frameworks for cutting-edge AI systems.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking hands-on Data Engineers who build and own pipelines in production. Relevant titles include:

• Data Engineer (Mid, Senior, or Staff level)
• Analytics Engineer
• Data Platform Engineer
• Data Architect

Core technical stack:

• SQL and Python proficiency
• Experience with ETL/ELT, orchestration, streaming, and data warehousing
• Familiarity with tools such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Databricks
• Cloud experience on AWS, GCP, or Azure

Commitment & Schedule

• 40 hours per week from 14 September to 10 October 2026
• Collaboration follows a UK business-hours rhythm
• Candidates should not have other significant project commitments during this period; smaller side projects can be discussed
