Data Scientist - BYOD at Mercor

Data Scientist (BYOD) | $150–$200/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced Data Scientists who have legal ownership over their data science-related work documents and are ready to contribute to cutting-edge AI evaluation projects. This is a flexible, hourly contractor role ideal for seasoned professionals looking to apply their expertise in a meaningful and impactful way.

What You'll Do

• Leverage your owned data science documents and expertise to support AI training and evaluation tasks
• Design and refine LLM (Large Language Model) prompts to guide model behavior effectively
• Evaluate and assess model outputs using structured Rubric-style evaluation frameworks
• Provide expert-level feedback to improve the quality and accuracy of AI-generated content

Ideal Candidate

• Proven experience in data science, machine learning, or a closely related field
• Legal ownership of relevant data science work documents (required)
• Prior experience working with Mercor on Rubric-style tasks is strongly preferred
• Confident in prompt engineering and evaluating outputs from large language models
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail
