Mercor is seeking experienced, U.S.-licensed Dermatologists for a non-clinical, image-based AI development role with a leading global healthcare technology partner. This is a flexible contractor opportunity where your clinical expertise directly shapes the future of dermatological AI.

About the Role

You will apply your dermatology expertise to image-based projects that help develop and evaluate advanced AI models. There is no direct patient care — your work ensures AI-generated medical outputs align with real-world clinical reasoning and dermatological standards.

Responsibilities

• Review high-resolution clinical images of skin lesions and identify dermatological conditions.
• Describe images using precise medical attributes, including lesion color, shape, morphology, and distribution.
• Assess skin health, severity, and progression from images, and evaluate the clinical accuracy of AI-generated assessments.
• Develop clear guidelines and criteria defining high-quality dermatological image assessments.
• Provide clinical insight to improve AI model understanding and classification of dermatological presentations.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to medical and project standards.

Requirements

• Medical degree (M.D.) with an active, unrestricted U.S. medical license.
• Minimum of 5 years post-residency clinical dermatology experience (practicing or previously practiced).
• Strong ability to identify and describe dermatological conditions using precise medical terminology.
• Prior experience with image annotation or medical education is preferred.
• English fluency required.
