Design & Frontend Specialist | $90–140/hr | Worldwide Remote

MICRO1 is seeking a highly skilled Design & Frontend Specialist who bridges the gap between thoughtful product design and robust frontend engineering. This role is ideal for a practitioner who excels at both crafting exceptional user experiences and translating them into clean, accessible code — while also communicating design and technical decisions with clarity and precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product and UX design, from user research through high-fidelity prototypes
• Build and maintain scalable design systems using Figma
• Develop responsive, accessible frontend interfaces using JavaScript/TypeScript and React (or comparable frameworks)
• Ensure all designs and implementations meet modern accessibility standards
• Author clear design and technical documentation including Design Docs, Research Reports, RFCs, and ADRs
• Conduct trade-off analyses and synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align design rationale with engineering and product goals

Required Skills

• Product Design & UX: User research, interaction design, and usability best practices
• UI/Visual Design: Strong visual sensibility and attention to detail
• Design Systems: Proficiency in Figma and component-driven design
• Frontend Engineering: JavaScript/TypeScript, React or comparable modern framework
• Accessibility: WCAG compliance and inclusive design principles
• Technical Writing: Ability to produce well-structured RFCs, ADRs, and analytical reports
• Analytical Thinking: Synthesis of complex information and clear trade-off communication

Compensation

$90–$140/hr, depending on experience and expertise.
