Designer – Preference Labels
Job Type: Hourly Contract (Remote)

About the Role:
Mercor is seeking experienced Designers to help write, review, and validate prompt-based questions for training AI systems. Your background in visual systems, creative strategy, and user experience will guide how AI models learn and simulate real-world design thinking, workflows, and communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Write, review, and refine prompts and responses for AI model training, reflecting expertise in multi-modal design workflows.
Evaluate and improve AI-generated outputs for visual literacy, clarity, and creative process rigor.
Ensure that scenarios and prompts accurately represent design thinking across fields like education, retail, architecture, tech, or culture.
Ideal Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in specialized design fields (instructional, exhibit, service, environmental, experience design, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree in design, architecture, education, industrial design, interaction design, or related discipline.
Proven experience creating high-quality visual designs for web/apps or brand/marketing assets.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail.
Exposure to LLMs and GenAI prompting is a plus.
Role Highlights:
Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to expand to 40 hours.
Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule.
Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension.
Start date: Early to mid-August (applications reviewed on a rolling basis)
Interview Process:
AI interview exploring your experience in creative workflows, user experience planning, and systemic design thinking.
Practical task: Share your screen and write a prompt to generate and evaluate an AI response for a design scenario.
