E-commerce Data & Catalog Specialist | $40–50/hr | Worldwide Remote

We're looking for a detail-oriented E-commerce Data & Catalog Specialist to help manage and optimize product data infrastructure for a dynamic e-commerce operation. This is a contractor role ideal for a generalist with a strong foundation in catalog management, data normalization, and merchandising operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain product catalogs, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all channels.
• Design and implement product taxonomy structures and data normalization standards.
• Work with SQL and/or NoSQL databases to query, update, and manage structured product datasets.
• Support e-commerce merchandising operations, including product listing optimization and category management.
• Build and maintain data models to support scalable catalog growth and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

• Product Catalog Management – Experience maintaining large-scale product databases in e-commerce environments.
• SQL/NoSQL Database Knowledge – Comfortable querying and managing data across relational and non-relational databases.
• Product Taxonomy & Data Normalization – Ability to create and enforce consistent classification and attribute standards.
• E-commerce Merchandising Operations – Familiarity with product listing workflows and digital shelf management.
• Data Modeling & Structured Dataset Management – Skilled in organizing and structuring datasets for operational and analytical use.
