Education Technology Expert at Mercor

Education Technology Expert | $45–65/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with leading AI labs on Project Atlas — an initiative to build realistic enterprise environments used to train and evaluate frontier AI agents. We're looking for experienced education technology professionals from Fortune 500 ed-tech companies, R1 universities, and major K-12 districts to help recreate the digital workspaces and workflows that define modern ed-tech practice.

What You'll Do

• Build a high-fidelity digital workspace modeled on your real day-to-day environment — including Drive folders, product specs, learning-design docs, assessment rubrics, engagement reports, integration plans, PD materials, and email threads
• Incorporate relevant platform representations such as Google Classroom, PowerSchool, and Google Forms
• Design multi-step, realistic tasks grounded in your actual workflows that meaningfully challenge state-of-the-art AI agents
• Collaborate asynchronously with fellow ed-tech experts and research teams to refine task designs, evaluation criteria, and scenario realism
• Contribute directly to frontier AI research and benchmarking efforts at leading AI labs

Ideal Qualifications

• 3+ years of full-time experience at a Fortune 500 ed-tech company, R1 university, or major K-12 district or state-level education agency
• Background in one or more of the following areas:
  • LMS administration and ed-tech integration
  • Educational product management, learning engineering, or instructional design
  • Learning analytics, assessment design, or adaptive-learning platforms
  • District-level ed-tech leadership
  • Student-data compliance (FERPA, COPPA) and accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)
• Day-to-day proficiency with Google Classroom, PowerSchool or Infinite Campus, and Google Forms
• Strong analytical and written communication skills — able to translate complex ed-tech workflows into structured task specifications

Compensation

This role begins at an effective hourly rate of $45–$65/hr, with a planned transition to a throughput-based compensation model rewarding quality output.
