Electrical Engineering Expert | $70–$80/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking senior electrical engineering professionals to design evaluation tasks for AI systems operating within Fortune 500 enterprise electrical and product design environments. This is a high-impact contractor role where your deep industry expertise directly shapes how AI understands and performs complex engineering work.

Key Responsibilities

• Construct realistic enterprise electrical engineering scenarios spanning circuit and systems design, multi-stakeholder design reviews, and manufacturing or regulatory certification processes at F500 scale.
• Build tasks across power systems and grid infrastructure, semiconductor and PCB design, embedded systems and firmware, signal processing, and control systems engineering.
• Develop scenarios involving industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence, MATLAB/Simulink, SPICE simulation platforms, and enterprise PLM/EDA systems.
• Apply enterprise methodologies — including circuit analysis, EMC/EMI compliance, control theory, and failure mode analysis — to produce reference design specifications, engineering analyses, and executive-level technical narratives.
• Author evaluation rubrics that distinguish authentic senior engineering judgment from generic, textbook-level responses.

Ideal Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an electrical engineer or engineering lead at a Fortune 500 technology, industrial, or energy company (e.g., Intel, Texas Instruments, GE, Siemens, Tesla).
• Direct ownership of F500-scale circuit designs, power systems, or engineering certification programs.
• Fluency in enterprise electrical engineering tooling and a strong understanding of F500 safety standards, regulatory certification (UL, FCC, IEC), and cross-functional design governance.
• Prior experience authoring rubrics, engineering training curricula, or formal design documentation is a plus.
