EPC Expert — Data Centers at Mercor

EPC Expert — Data Centers | $100–$140/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking seasoned Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) professionals to serve as technical peer reviewers on complex data center project scenarios. This is a part-time, flexible contractor role ideal for experienced practitioners who want to apply their expertise in a high-impact, intellectually rigorous capacity.

What You'll Do

• Review long-horizon project tasks spanning design coordination, procurement, vendor data, bid packages, issued-for-construction drawings, EOR revisions, constructability analysis, 4D sequencing, field engineering, commissioning, and handover
• Evaluate scope interfaces, technical requirements, schedule logic, equipment and material constraints, document control processes, and acceptance criteria
• Identify ambiguities, conflicting source documents, missing constraints, or unrealistic deliverables within task materials
• Improve task prompts, supporting artifacts, acceptance criteria, rubrics, and programmatic validation checks
• Produce clear, well-documented technical findings and validate corrected tasks end to end

Who We're Looking For

• Typically 2+ years of experience delivering data centers, mission-critical facilities, or similarly complex capital projects via EPC, design-build, or construction-management models
• Relevant backgrounds include: Project Engineer, Engineering Manager, Design Manager, Construction Manager, Field Engineer, Procurement Engineer, Commissioning Manager, Project Controls Lead, or Technical Project Manager
• Strong grasp of multidisciplinary design and construction interfaces; PE, PMP, CCM, or commissioning credentials are a plus
• Experience at a leading EPC, design-build, engineering, or construction firm is strongly preferred
• Ability to interpret large document sets including specifications, drawings, schedules, equipment submittals, cost registers, and field records
• Detail-oriented with excellent written communication skills

• Hours: Approximately 5–10 hours per week to start
• Start: Immediate
• Compensation: $100–$140 per hour, based on experience and role fit
