Excel Expert — Finance | $70–$100/hr | Remote (US Only)

Join a leading technology company's GenAI initiative and apply your advanced financial modeling expertise to shape how the next generation of AI models learns to work in Excel. This is a W-2 contract role through Cincinnatus LLC, embedded within a high-impact AI training team.

About the Role

We're looking for seasoned finance professionals who live and breathe Excel — building three-statement models, LBO/DCF valuations, forecasts, and complex analyses at a senior level. Your hands-on expertise will directly improve the quality of training data powering the most advanced Large Language Models available today.

Ideal candidates come from private equity, investment banking, hedge funds, or equity research. Accounting and FP&A professionals with strong Excel depth are also welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide research teams in closing AI knowledge gaps on Excel-based finance tasks.
• Design realistic, domain-relevant Excel tasks drawn from your professional experience and write accurate, well-structured solutions.
• Evaluate Excel tasks and solutions, providing clear and constructive written feedback.
• Collaborate with other subject matter experts to ensure consistency and accuracy across training data.

Core Qualifications

• Demonstrated advanced, professional-level Excel expertise: advanced formulas (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, dynamic arrays), PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot, dashboards, and macros/VBA.
• Hands-on finance experience including three-statement models, LBO/DCF, valuation, and forecasting.
• Demonstrable career progression in a relevant finance discipline.
• Prior experience in AI training, data annotation, or model evaluation is a strong plus (especially Rubrics-trained on Mercor or a comparable platform).
• Ability to commit to 40 hours/week on weekdays through end of September, then 20 hours/week thereafter.
• Strong verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be based in the United States.
