Experienced Data Scientist at Mercor

Data Science Expert | $100/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking an accomplished Data Scientist to join a high-impact project with a leading AI company. This contract role offers the opportunity to shape the future of intelligent analytics tools by creating advanced, reasoning-based data analysis samples that enhance AI systems' understanding of complex datasets.

• Analyze large, structured datasets and design multi-step analytics questions requiring deep data interpretation.
• Develop and validate SQL queries using DuckDB, pandas, or Python notebooks to answer complex analytical questions.
• Produce clear, human-readable explanations to articulate analytical reasoning and insights.
• Format deliverables into structured JSON outputs for seamless integration.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency and quality through feedback and review.

Requirements:

• 6+ years in data analytics, data science, or a related quantitative field.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (DuckDB or pandas experience preferred).
• Strong background in data exploration, statistical reasoning, and business intelligence.
• Experience with iPython, Jupyter Notebooks, or GitHub.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).

Project Details:

• Duration: Approximately 2 months
• Commitment: 15 hours per week
• Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous
• Compensation: $100/hour, paid daily via Stripe Connect
