Expert PhD Math and Statistics AI Tutor
Hourly contract, Remote
$110 to $130 per hour
Join a leading GenAI team and help build foundational models. We are hiring Mathematics and Statistics subject matter experts to raise the quality of training data and guide research teams. This is a fully remote role with flexible hours and direct collaboration with lab researchers.
Advise research teams on closing knowledge gaps and improving model performance in your math domain
Create and maintain precise annotation standards for your specialty
Develop guidelines and rubrics to evaluate mathematical reasoning across tasks
Design challenging, domain relevant problems and write clear, correct solutions
Review tasks and solutions, then provide actionable written feedback
Collaborate with other experts to ensure consistency and accuracy in datasets
Location: Based in the United States
Education: Master’s or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field, or elite competition credentials such as IMO or Putnam medalist
Experience: At least 3 years in a math focused role at a reputable institution

Compensation of $110 to $130 per hour
Flexible remote work with visible impact on advanced AI systems
Initial engagement of 18 weeks, with potential extension based on project needs and performance
Ideal availability of about 40 hours per week
Minimum availability of about 20 hours per week
Participation in calibration calls with the client team 2 to 5 times per week
