Film and Video Editor – AI Training Content Creator
Hourly Contract | Remote | $35–$55/hr

Mercor is seeking experienced Film and Video Editors to design, review, and validate prompt-based questions that will train advanced AI systems in video editing and post-production workflows.

Role Overview
As a Film and Video Editor, you’ll develop training materials that reflect real-world editing scenarios, ensuring that each prompt is technically accurate, creatively structured, and aligned with industry standards. Your experience will help shape how AI understands narrative structure, visual storytelling, and cinematic techniques.
What You’ll Do
Write, review, and validate prompt-based questions covering editing concepts and challenges.
Ensure prompts and responses demonstrate proper use of narrative pacing, color grading, audio syncing, and post-production processes.
Translate industry workflows into clear, structured training content for AI systems.
Who We’re Looking For
3+ years of professional experience in film or video editing for professional productions.
Bachelor’s degree in film, media, digital arts, or a related field.
Strong background in one or more of the following:
Narrative editing and visual storytelling
Multi-camera syncing, audio leveling, dialogue pacing
Motion graphics integration and transitions
Creating trailers, reels, or branded content under tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency with editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
Familiarity with motion graphics tools.
Role Highlights
Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours.
Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your schedule from anywhere.
Initial contract: 1–2 months, with potential extension.
Start date: Early to mid-July; applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
Interview Process
Participate in an AI interview focused on your video editing background and workflows.
Share your screen to create a prompt and evaluate AI-generated responses.
Selection based on prompt quality and evaluation accuracy.
Compensation & Legal
Hourly contractor role; paid weekly via Stripe Connect.
