Finance Expert – Direct Lending at Mercor

Finance Expert – Direct Lending & Alternative Credit | $110–150/hr | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is seeking experienced Direct Lending and Alternative Credit professionals to collaborate with a leading AI research lab. In this role, you will help develop and evaluate advanced AI systems designed to replicate real-world private credit and alternative investment workflows — translating your deep industry expertise into structured training data for next-generation AI agents.

Key Responsibilities

• Document and explain day-to-day workflows in direct lending, private credit, and alternative asset management
• Analyze and articulate credit underwriting processes, including due diligence, risk assessment, and deal structuring
• Identify and categorize key transaction documents such as credit memos, IC materials, term sheets, covenants, and lender presentations
• Distinguish between public and private information within credit markets and lending processes
• Provide expert insight into deal sourcing, execution, and portfolio monitoring workflows
• Partner with AI researchers to convert real-world credit knowledge into structured, high-quality training data

Ideal Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Direct Lending, Private Credit, Leveraged Finance, or Alternative Asset Management
• Background at top-tier firms such as Ares, Apollo, Blackstone Credit, KKR Credit, Golub Capital, Oaktree, or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong familiarity with credit agreements, financial covenants, underwriting models, and deal documentation
• Experience in middle-market lending, sponsor-backed deals, or structured credit is a plus
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

Project Details

• Start Date: Within 1–2 weeks
• Commitment: Part-time, minimum 10 hours/week
• Rate: $110–$150/hr depending on experience
