Finance Tutor | $45–100/hr | Remote in US
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organization to engage finance professionals in training cutting-edge AI systems. This full-time opportunity focuses on leveraging your financial expertise to improve AI model understanding across investment analysis, equities, derivatives, fixed income, and more.
Role Overview
As an AI Tutor – Finance Specialist, you'll use your deep financial knowledge to annotate, evaluate, and refine AI-generated outputs. Your expertise will help ensure models reason accurately about financial data, market behavior, and economic principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated outputs across complex financial topics using proprietary tools
- Apply financial reasoning to improve model performance in valuation, portfolio construction, taxation, and accounting
- Collaborate with technical teams to optimize annotation workflows and data evaluation methods
- Engage in structured data collection through text, audio, or video tasks
- Interpret and execute evolving task instructions with precision and independent judgment
- Maintain consistently high-quality analytical and written outputs
Ideal Qualifications
- Master's degree, PhD, or equivalent professional experience in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
- Professional background as an investment analyst, portfolio/wealth manager, or financial consultant
- Strong familiarity with Bloomberg, Reuters, and SEC filings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proven ability to analyze and explain complex financial data clearly
- Demonstrated interest in AI technology and innovation within finance
Preferred Backgrounds
- CFA Charterholder or CPA certification
- Academic or publication record in finance or economics
- Teaching or tutoring experience in finance-related subjects
- Corporate accounting or risk management experience
Work Arrangement
- Remote or in-person (Palo Alto, CA); in-office requires 5 days per week
- Initial training: 9:00am–5:30pm PST for two weeks, then local timezone
- Personal computer must be Chromebook, Mac (macOS 11+), or Windows 10+ device
- Reliable smartphone access required
- U.S.-based applicants must reside outside of Wyoming and Illinois
Compensation & Benefits
$45–100 per hour based on experience, education, and location. Full-time position with location-based benefits. International pay rates available upon request.
