Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organization to enhance AI capabilities for real-world finance workflows. We're seeking experienced FP&A professionals to contribute domain-authentic financial analysis data that will train advanced AI systems. This unique opportunity allows you to shape the future of AI in finance by creating realistic datasets and analytical tasks that reflect how finance professionals actually work.

Role Overview

As an FP&A Expert, you'll simulate authentic finance workflows in Excel by developing datasets, analytical tasks, and expert-validated solutions. Each task is expected to take approximately 5–10 hours to complete, including dataset creation, question design, golden response generation, and recorded walkthroughs with evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic FP&A-style Excel datasets that reflect genuine business scenarios
• Develop FP&A Excel workbooks by repurposing or recreating representative datasets from your experience (no sensitive or proprietary data)
• Author at least five complex, multi-step FP&A analysis prompts per dataset (variance analysis, scenario modeling, trend analysis, etc.)
• Produce expert-validated "golden" responses and final Excel outputs for each prompt
• Define evaluation criteria to assess correctness and quality of analyses
• Record comprehensive screen walkthroughs explaining analytical reasoning and Excel workflows

Ideal Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of professional experience in an FP&A role
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data transformation, analysis)
• Strong ability to structure financial data and explain analytical decision-making
• Clear verbal communication skills for recorded walkthroughs
