FP&A Expert | $80–90/hr | Worldwide Remote | Contract

Mercor is seeking experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) professionals to design evaluation tasks for AI systems operating in financial planning, forecasting, and business analysis environments. This is a high-impact contract role where your senior-level expertise directly shapes how AI understands and performs complex corporate finance work.

About the Role

Contributors will work across two reporting tracks — a US track (US GAAP-based) and an International track (IFRS-based) — building realistic FP&A scenarios, drafting reference outputs, and authoring rubrics that reflect how senior FP&A leaders truly think and operate. Experts qualified in either or both tracks are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Design FP&A scenarios spanning full budgeting and forecasting cycles, variance analysis, business partnering, and capital allocation decisions.
• Build tasks across financial planning, variance reporting, business partnering, capital budgeting, investment analysis, and financial modeling.
• Develop scenarios incorporating industry-standard tools such as Anaplan, Adaptive Insights, Planful, BI platforms (Tableau, Power BI), and enterprise ERP systems.
• Apply methodologies including driver-based forecasting, variance analysis, and scenario/sensitivity modeling to produce reference financial models, forecast decks, variance reports, and business case analyses.
• Author evaluation rubrics that distinguish authentic, senior-level FP&A judgment from generic or template-driven responses.

Ideal Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as an FP&A leader, Director of FP&A, or CFO at a major organization.
• Direct ownership of budgeting cycles, forecasting models, or capital allocation decisions.
• Strong fluency in FP&A tooling and corporate finance best practices.
• Professional credentials such as CFA, MBA, or CPA are a plus.
• Prior experience in rubric writing or training content authorship is a bonus.
