Frontend Engineer – AI Coding Agent Evaluator | $400/task | Worldwide Remote

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research lab on a Frontier Code Agents project. As a contributor, you'll use and evaluate cutting-edge AI coding models through structured technical assessments — focusing on realistic frontend engineering workflows rather than traditional software development.

What You'll Do

• Use frontier AI coding agents to complete and evaluate complex frontend engineering tasks.
• Review model-generated code for correctness, quality, maintainability, accessibility, and performance.
• Identify bugs, edge cases, and failure modes in AI-generated outputs.
• Compare outputs across multiple frontier models and assess their relative strengths and weaknesses.
• Apply professional engineering judgment to realistic frontend scenarios.

Compensation & Time Commitment

• $400 per accepted task — typical tasks take 1–3 hours after ramp-up.
• Sprint-based project running in 12–24 hour stretches based on client requirements.
• No fixed task limits; compensation is tied to accepted work.

Who Should Apply

• 2+ years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Proficiency with modern web technologies: React, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar.
• Regular hands-on experience with AI coding agents such as Cursor, Claude Code, Codex, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, or similar tools.
• Ability to critically evaluate model-generated UI architecture, implementations, and performance optimizations.
• Experience with large-scale consumer or enterprise applications is a strong plus.
